Rating: Puddle of Mudd repeats the same themes (again) and still sings about the same old things. It got old a long time ago and I'm only rating this album 3 because even though the lyrics ARE lame and SO unoriginal, I still for some reason like to listen to Life on Display. As far as music goes, it really doesn't sound anything LIKE Nirvana to me (save for maybe... several tracks, haha), but Wes somehow programmed his voice to make it sound like Cobain's rough, gritty, raspy tone. Have you noticed how many people rip off Cobain's voice, how many people sound like him these days (Fuel, Socialburn, P.O.M, etc...)? Puddle of Mudd's lyrics lack SO much of the signature genius that Kurt Cobain had in his songwriting. This is very nu-metal grunge. So in general, there really is no hope for Puddle of Mudd to gain any fans... they could use a HUGE dose of originality and songwriting talent, but the songs themselves sound pretty decent. Rating: All in all another good album by puddle of mudd. It has a lot of good songs, one of them being: away from me. I personally think that their first album, come clean was a better album. They just put their heart into that album. Review Written by: badboyforlife699
Rating: They're not underrated- plainly put, they just suck. I'm not saying this just because they're associated with Fred Durst, being a nu-metal band, being "Nirvana-wannabes", or whatever. The fact is, they suck. Come Clean was an exceptional album, actually had some good tracks going. This is just another, shittier version of Come Clean. They sing about the same things again, seem to whine about unimportant issues throughout the whole album, overall, it's a very poor effort. The video for "Away From Me" did look like a Nirvana rip-off. That is the only track that comes close to exceptional. Which just adds to the fact why Puddle of Mudd is a band that won't be around for too long. They're completely unoriginal. Even if you ARE a Nirvana fan, you won't like Life on Display, trust me. Nirvana is MUCH better than this poor nu-metal rip-off. The only comparisons you can make on POM and Nirvana are the vocals and looks/style. I'm sure a lot of people wasted their money on Life on Display, thankfully I didn't. I did listen to the album... but bored of it less than halfway through. But hey, if you're into crappy nu-metal, you'll probably think this is a classic. Review Written by: Mourning_Palace
Rating: This band definately have the talent. There Nirvana-related driven vocals show that...but as far as putting forth their talent to its greatest potential, this band is yet to do. "Life On Display" has a couple good songs included. The best to my listening was it's single "Away From Me".The rest are lacking effort. Review Written by: sensesfailxangrypoet
