Rating: No other ska band will ever compare to sm. Their lyrics are creative and relatable. You can tell that they really get into their music. Once you listen to this cd, no other cd will be as good. The horns blend in perfectly with the punk rock music to make the perfect ska punk rock cd. Every song is great! There's so much energy, you cant help but want to skank and dance! Review Written by: pip87
Rating: I bought this CD about a month ago, and it has been my favorite album since. So inventive, brilliantly executed...it brings together so many styles that I can't even list them all. Like someone said earlier, this has an Eastern European/Romanian sound to a lot of it, while also mixing in classical, jazz, swing, polka, reggae, punk, and just about everything else you can think of. The horn parts are played flawlessly, and the lyrics are brilliant. A lot of the horn parts quote melodies that are extremely familiar without being obvious, which adds to the album. My favorite songs on the CD are the ones that have fast, sing-along choruses such as "Point/Counterpoint" and "We Are the Few." The shout/horn response part in "Everything Went Numb" and other tracks is also excellent. As a listener of music of all styles, you're almost guaranteed to enjoy and appreciate the way Streetlight blends everything together. The most appealing part of "Everything Goes Numb" is that it sounds unlike absolutely anything else out there, except maybe "Keasbey Nights" by Catch 22, which the same guy wrote. This album is hard to describe, but everyone I've shared it with listens to it all the time. Buy this now, but be warned, it will take up permanent residence in your CD player and your head.
