One senses that Richard is a master tunesmith of quality melody-and-sentiment. One’s mind's eye reflects back to days when crooners could really sing and pop songs really had memorable tunes. This hugely talented bluesy, country-jazz singer-songwriter deserves to harvest interest inside and outside the country community with this easy-listening album. I could rave about this and start to beg comparisons with some of the greats of the crooning-country genre (a rare breed). Richard trawled widely for subject-matter and if you enjoy sweet, true-blue, country-jazz ballads, this sensitive fare is highly recommended. A most competent songwriter, my favourite inspirational ballad is “Learning How To Fly”. It's a motivating ditty, tenderly crafted and not to be missed. Gentle on the ear, the recording, co-produced by the talented Mike Headrick, is a memorable session minted in Illinois that is a welcome departure from the Nashville conveyor-belt.

A guitar received as a gift at the age of six would open up a new world for the young boy with natural musical talent and a dream to share it with others.
Born Richard Laughner on December 24, 1960 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Richard Frankz became an orphan at the age of two. Placed in a Savannah, Georgia foster home with his two brothers and four other children, Richard took to the guitar early and soon found himself lost in his world of music. He first stepped onto the stage as a child, performing at school and community events.
Through his music that he has sought to answer the questions "Where is my home?" and "What is my purpose in life?"
By far, Richard's greatest accomplishment in life is his son, Franke. A gift given to him when life couldn't seem darker or colder, Franke has been a source of healing, peace and inspiration. He is an image of his father and loves to perform alongside him. There is nothing more precious than seeing Franke mimicking dad, singing "Why Tell Me Why." The song "Soul Of Me" (track 7, "Songs Within My Soul") was inspired by and written for Franke.
Richard Frankz loves his country music and his rock and roll, but his real passion is in his ballads. Richard writes and choreographs all of his music himself. His debut album "Songs Within My Soul" combines the thoughtful music of yesterday's favorite country ballads with the upbeat tempo of today's popular music.
Richard has bared his soul and embraced many causes through his music. He has written songs like "I Cry Too," dedicated to fight domestic violence. He also wrote "Stand On Your Own," dedicated to the D.A.R.E. program helping youth take a stand against drugs.
Now with his latest album “Point of View”, Richard does not disappoint you with his uncanny ability to write remarkably insightful songs in nearly every genre imaginable. From Pop to Rock, Latin to R&B, Richard draws inspiration from every angle and awes the listener with his melodies, lyrics and hooks. You’ll hear Richard’s range, from his romantic ballads within “Dear Baby”, “Each Day” to “Knew You at All” (hitting the charts at 33 during it’s 1st week out), to “Over and Over” and “Holding On”. Then finally giving you the rock and roll, with “Beginnings of New” and “Learning How to Fly”.
Currently, Richard is working on his much anticipated third album “Now and Then” scheduled for release at the end of 2006.
