hey Ev, thanks for inviting me to your friends list. Would love it if you checked out Grant Michaels Project and left some feedback for us as well. You can link thru my profile and thanks if you do.
I like a few of your songs. I think I can hear what you have in mind when I listen. Taste of Sin could be on the country charts now. It's that good.
If I could offer a couple of suggestions. A couple things kinda jumped out at me when I listened. One, you have a really good sounding voice. Reverb and delay are great tools to accent that, but be careful that you're not using it too much and taking away from the quality that's already there. "Less is more" is the battle cry behind the mixer. Start with something great and just embelish a little. You can't polish a turd, and you don't need to polish something that already shines, if you know what I mean.
Sorry if that's too vulgar.
Also, I was reading your bio. You mention that you play all your instruments yourself. That's cool if you can do it. I've known several artists like that. One of my mentors used to say you can do one thing great, or lots of things okay. You, as the artist, have to decide what's most important to you. You've been at this long enough, I don't need to describe the benefit of inviting other musicians to sit in and share their interpretations.
Over all, I'm enjoying your music. I like the lyrics, and the melodies are pretty fresh. I'll check back from time to time and listen to more songs.
Hope the feedback isn't insulting or anything. The engineer in me won't let me enjoy anything without picking it apart! lol. Drives my wife nuts.

Please feel Free to download(SOME FREE MP3S)I am from south Alabama where I grew up and learned a lot about music and people.I have been the leader of several bands most notably the band RISK, which was a really fun band and of late the band SOUTHERN HEAT. Part of that band remains with me as I have entered a new phase of my music,but I am primarily a solo artist at the moment! I write and record from my 2nd floor recording studio it is called (EV WORKS) my nickname is (THE EV) I have a huge selection of original music which I have been writing since I was a very young man. I will be offering some free mp3s for anyone who likes them but there will be a small charge for others as I am just like most people I have to pay the bills.I do all the vocals and play all the instruments to my tunes except sometimes my drummer YO YO helps with the percussion. I write in severeal different genres so look for me all over the board,also I have seven full cd's.I have two other websites one is a homepage,the other is under construction but will be up soon! Enough about the dreary stuff I like to write about world affairs and things that happen to ordinary folks most importantly love,heartbreaks and the blues of everyday people like my friends and myself included.Also the fun things in life as I love tropical settings. I have four sons and a beautiful loving wife some really good friends and a whole lot of fans whom I love dearly and will go to all justifiable ends to please!!!I have toured the United States twice on my own and with my band and other artist I have played in two foriegn countries and have personaly been granted audience with and played in the prescence of a king and a prince.I will include more photos and music soon. A shot at the title
Hello everyone, I am writing this because I have been in the music business for a very long time and have paid some very heavy dues. I have written and uploaded at least 89 mp3s, I have always played my music for the enjoyment of the people and to make my livelyhood. I have never entered a contest of any kind with my music. That being said I would like to win this contest just like everyone else would and if not it's ok and I wish all the contestants good luck and best wishes. This botb could really help launch the career of any of the aspiring artists who takes the chance and lays it on the line. I have been very cordial to all who have written to me for advice and will always continue to be no matter the outcome. With that being said, I would really appreciate any and all plays at any time, but especially during the contest. So, come on friends, take a couple of minutes and let the plays begin. I really would like a shot at the title to leave a small legacy to my family to let them know that daddy did win something other than their hearts. Thank you very much for your interest in my music!!

Good Fans
Good fans make the world go around for musical artist. With out them we could sell no music, get no plays, no page visits or have any gigs to play and no real joy in our music. Sad Day for Women Republicans stick another nail in coffin over america
Right wing Judge Sam Alito nominated to supreme court. President Bush continues to rule as King of United States, grinding middle and poor america under his feet for his own agenda as exxon mobile clears $10 billion dollars while our gas and home heating oil keeps going through the roof and our civil rights get trampled in the ground. Pretty soon we will not be able to play our music if it offends the republican way of thinking or cuts into their share of the money which they are stealing from us left and right. Now I believe in Jesus but I think he would wipe these so called right wing religious tv preachers for profit who seem to govern our moral standards completely off the face of the earth if he was into justice. I don't think the statement (the meek shall inherit the earth) applys to the Bush administration or any of his oil buddies or the republican right. These statements are my opinions and not those of isound. I would like to live in a world where muscians and their trade are respected not ruled by people who don't know their elbow's from their asshole's !! Rick Everett

Mississippi hurting
the people of mississippi on the coast still need help I've been there just a few days ago and I am apalled,amazed and horrified at what I saw the debri is scattered for at least 75 miles and it still looks like it just happened yesterdy. they're living in tents and trailers and anything they can find for shelter their schools are gone their grocery store are gone and their livelyhoods are gone my father was from mississippi but even if he wasn't I would still have a hard time sleeping at night because I can't do enough for them to make their lives any better! the first order of business is to clean up that mess so they can rebuild, there are hundreds of college students who donated their vacation time to go down there and help but their effort is not enough it's going to take thousands of hands to get things back to normal so if you have any charity in your heart or can lend a physical helping hand please do so. with a lump in my throat,a tear in my eyes and an ache in my heart yours truly Rick Everett

The Devil made me do it
Is it just my imagination or do people when they get near the top of the chain forget where they come from and are rappers just naturaly vehemet about other folks other than themselves and do they have any real self respect that is not tied to their ego by an umbilicle chord. Mind you I'm not talking about anyone I know,just about thugs in general,I remember being young and full of testosterone and piss and vinegar but I had respect for other peoples feelings,privacy and etc. I also remember being poor as gully dirt and basicly still am and thats no reason to think the world owes you anything but a chance to do better in an honest kinda way in any endeavor you care to undertake and commit yourself to like a marriage,a relationship,a small or big business,being an artist or a musicisian or a bricklayer anyhow you get the picture and the point is why does a measure of sucess always bring out the bad things in a person rather than the charitable side,does it make you think you're one step closer to being a god or is it the old Flip Wilson version of the devil made me do it. Goodbye Friend
I would just like to say farewell to a good friend and musician. Lamar Alley an excellent guitarist from Dothan, Ala he gave up playing live a few years ago and moved down to the Fla coast to raise his family and do his next best thing sailing and anything to do with the sea,but hepatitis and cancer would follow and cut his beautiful life short. I will miss you greatly my friend but will always carry the memory of you close to my heart,may you soar in the heavens and rest in peace,we will meet again Your very close friend and cohort Rick (love ya man sail on)

A New Dawn

SILENT CITY
When you last heard from me I was on my way to New Orleans to see if the music was still alive!!Whenever I go to N.O. I CAN FEEL THE PULSE OF THE CITY right now the pulse of the city is so still its almost stopped,at 2:30 this morning I opened the french doors and windows at my buddies apartment on St. Louis street and to my surprise the only thing I heard was silence the city was firmly asleep bear in mind before hurricane katrina the music used to never stop from dusk til dawn and the city never slept. I have done some research and found at least two more sites to upload your music to and get more coverage for your music. These sites are free you can upload six songs on each site,but their reach on the net seems to be pretty good,plus you can put a lot of information about yourself,your band or whatever you want to tell your public about. TIT FOR TAT
Now I'm not a nagger or complainer,but I've noticed that some of my best work has gotten some truly crappy ratings. Now I'm not great but I've been in the business a long time and in the top 10 daily plays on the home page at least 40 times and I've only been here since august,there are other artist that I listen to on this site who haven't been there at all and they deserve to be,well they will have their day I hope. I don;t know who rates the songs but I'm betting it's not the fans,so being the sport that I am I dug into my pile of old garage band recordings from the 90's and converted one of the first hip hop tunes I ever wrote and uploaded. To be fair I'm going to put it on play today,so for the crappy ratings---here's a truly crappy song. Forgive me my fans and friends,but I am my own man,this is my career and I say one good turn desreves another. This song is appropriatly named WHATS IT GONNA BE. FRIENDS AND FANS
I have been getting a lot of mail lately from folks around the world and I'm always glad to take the time to answer.No man is an Island unto himself no matter who you are,you'd be suprised at the fans espesially who would like to do what we (artist) do for a living or just be in a band period,that speaks well of our profession and makes me proud to be a musician even though there are lots of heartaches and misery that go along with the prospect of the spotlight and possible stardom. It takes years of patience and practice you know tote that barge lift that bale and it's all woth it in the end,but always in the background there is someone or some people friends,fans or family giving you encouragement to do what you do and if by chance and hard work you make it those are the people who should be thanked instead of patting yourself on the back and pinning your requisite badges upon your chest and crowing like the cock,but each to his or her own,you're the one who has to pay the piper in the end anyway so in closing I'd like to give thanks and a big shout out to all my friends,fans and followers. NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE
I WROTE 2 SONGS (EASY NO MORE & KATRINAS UNSUNG HERO'S) TWO DAYS AFTER THE EVENT THEY WERE FOR SALE TO GIVE THE PROCEEDS TO THE VICTIMS ESPECIALLY THE ONES STRANDED ON THE BRIDGE AND ROOFS WELL NO ONE SEEMED TO HAVE A DOLLAR ON THEIR CARDS,SO THE SONGS ARE NOT FOR SALE ANYMORE YOU CAN HOWEVER LISTEN TO THEM AND DOWNLOAD THEM IF YOU WANT TO. I HAVE MOVED THEM WAY DOWN ON MY MP3 LIST SO YOU WILL HAVE TO LOOK FOR THEM. PS I HAD 2 NEPHEWS THERE BOTH LOST THEIR HOMES AND ONE OF MY BAND MEMBERS IS STILL MISSING!!! RICK EVERETT
