THIS THE ROB ZOMBIE BIOGRAPHY
Rob Zombie, Singer, Songwriter, Artist, Film director, producer, businessman. Born January 12, 1966 as Robert Cummings in Haverhill Massachusetts. He Lead quite a normal life. In high school, He was influenced by the music of Alice Copper and formed a metal rock band with his school buddies. When not playing music him and his friends enjoyed old black and white movies. They named their band after the 1932 classic “white zombie”.
In 1985 the band moved to New York. He changed his name to Robert Starker after one of the characters from the movie. The band preformed at small venues for two years. He and his long time girl friend, Saylor Moon, did artwork for comic books, and magazines, to supplement their income. In 1987 he changed his name again, this time to Rob Zombie. Then they got a recording contract that year with “Caroline Records” and released “Silent Explosion” they toured till 1989then released “Make Them Die Slowly”. Geffen records picked up their contract in 92 and released “La Sexorcisto: Devils Music Vol. 1”. Then came “Astro Creeper 2000”in 1995. The band members were moving in different directions and eventually split up in 1996.
Rob Zombie formed his present self-titled band they released their first of many great CD’S called “Hillbilly Deluxe” which went platinum within weeks in 1997. Under the Geffen label He again rose up at of the ashes in 2001 to release “The Sinister Urge” which also went multi platinum. 2003 he did a “Best Of “ CD called “Past Present and Future.”
In April 2003 he released the major motion picture “House Of 1000 Corpses” which he wrote, produced, and directed with Liongates films. The movie grossed over $ 12 million dollars. The sequel, “Devil Rejects” currently available on DVD came out in 2005.
Rob Zombie’s younger brother, Spider, also very much into the heavy metal music scene started his own band with his influential older brother helping the band Powerman 5000 started as a Boston based underground metal band and earned a popular cult following along the east coast with the release of their 1995 indie-debut “The Blood Rating System” with the conscience record label. Two years later they moved to Dreamworks where they re-released a revamped version of their debut as Mage Kung Fu Radio, “True Force” followed in 1997. Two years later Powerman 5000 returned with “tonight the stars revolt”.
This is the life of a head banging monster metal maniac. He is know to many as a God, role model and many many things to everyone around him. In my point of view he is a god. That is way I can’t wait to see him at ozzfest. He is going to be there and I’m not missing that for anything. This man has done more in his life then half the world. He as 10 great CDS 2 movies he wrote, produced, and directed, 2 comic books, millions of fans, and a model for a wife. He has everything anyone could want. So that is the Rob Zombie experience.
