| Roberto's first "big" gig was opening for Art Blakey And The Jazz Messengers at Killer Joe's in the Ginza in Tokyo, Japan when he played with the Soul Searchers in 1968. Next, while playing with the Apple-Butter Blues Band he opened for Gary Lewis And The Playboys at Tachikawa AFB in 1969. Then he performed at Expo '70 in Osaka with Mother Superior. When he got to the States he played with several different groups and opened for Wayne Cochran, The Repairs, Eric Quincy Tate, Oliver, Lynyrd Skynyrd in the band Maelstrom while basing out of Atlanta. When he came to Los Angeles in the mid 70's he once again worked with a myriad of groups, most notably Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. At around this time he studied, music copying, arranging and composition at UCLA, The Dick Grove School Of Music, various community colleges and private instructors. He worked as an independent producer, arranger, composer, music copyist, and player for many different people such as Tower Of Power Horn Section, Jinx, Virgin Music Publishing and a host of other contractors. Most currently in the acting biz he last worked on "Lucky You" as one of the Binion Horseshoe Casino security guards. Thanks for looking! |
