I was digging for 7 days when i felt something cold brush against my skin - it was then that i realized i was naked. I left the pankackes on the stove in the kitchen - I was worried the house would burn down. Instead it walked out on me. It was then I realized that no matter how much you worry about something it will leave hanging on a tree. Bent over and tired the man puts down his shovel. There was a thick black fog above the grave he had just dug. A man once said that god was in the air. I thought it was impossible since the air was filled with flying rodents. when the time comes to go - we'll all follow the rabbit down the whole. As a punishment for too many years living above the clouds. The wind shook through eddie's body that night. He saw his mother's feathered hat shining in the moonlight - floating in the swamp - then eventually sucked down into the think black depth. The noise the night makes remind him of a song he once heard. The violins play a familiar tune. The hair on the back of his neck are wet with blood and he wonders if the wound he had obtained was fatal. Mother never told her son that the world was on fire. As the air gets heavier I find that the car is the safest place to play this game of chess - and i fall asleep remembering the night. There must be a way out of this sleep. You cannot live in your dreams. They will only lean against you until you topple over and hit your head on the cold stone ground. |
