| Saturday, January 5th, 2008 hello out there Just goofing around on my site here. I've made pretty much all the mp3s downloadable, so if you hear something you like, go ahead and take it home with you. Hopefully you'll get inspired from there to buy an actual CD(not expensive, just go to http://cdbaby.com/all/scrain ). Well anyway, thanks for stopping in and reading/listening to my stuff. Hope you found something you liked.

| Thursday, September 13th, 2007 Hey out there Not sure who actually checks in here, but apparently somebody does once in awhile. My "main" website is http://www.samcrain.com but I do add stuff here from time to time. Just added a new pic tonight, a drawing for me for my birthday from my younger nephew.
Thanks for checking in here. Hope you heard or saw something you liked. More later.

| Tuesday, June 19th, 2007 06/19/07 I should actually blog in here more often than I get around to, but oh well. One new picture up, titled Mean King Sam. It was taken at work, during one of our many clowning-around sessions. We have to work too, but the fun helps it all go down. Thanks for checking in here, more as it happens.

| Saturday, January 13th, 2007 Saturday, day of leisure For some people, it's a day of industry. For me, if I can at all help it, Saturday is a day of sloth and inactivity. The only activity I like to engage in is guitar playing/practicing. Just stopped in here to make a few changes and look around. Hope you'll give something a listen while you're here. A ton of selections. If you like what you hear, you can check out my CDs at http://cdbaby.com/all/scrain
Hope you're having a nice Saturday yourself, whether it's of the industrious or indolent variety.

| Wednesday, October 4th, 2006 anudder blog Greetings, whoever-reads-this. I could probably stand to write in here more often but I have other sites as well as this one so sometimes it gets hard to cover all your bases.
One new picture uploaded, and I changed the main pic. For the time being anyway.
There are already a million mp3s to listen to, though I might do well to replace a few with the other million mp3s I COULD put up..
Well thanks for tuning in here. My other main site is http://www.samcrain.com/
peace out,

Almost Friday, though of course it WILL be Friday when you're reading this. Probably bored at work, which accounts for a certain percentage of my readership.
New pix in the Photo Dept here as of tonight. Hope you'll stop here as well:

| Saturday, August 12th, 2006 vacation Blog Okay, Saturday is a given, but it's still one of 10 consecutive days off from the rigors of daygigdom- or for that matter, any kinda work. Not even any gigs(fun work)for awhile.
I should probably change that silly-assed picture on the site here, but still kinda get a kick out of it. So up it stays.
Hope you're enjoying the various sights n' sounds here on my site. More as it happens.

| Tuesday, July 11th, 2006 Sam's new CD Hey out there. I have a brand spanking new CD ready to unleash on the world. It's called "Solo Jazz Guitar", and is about half and half jazz standards and originals. The standards include "My Favorite Things", "Isn't it Romantic" and "A Foggy Day". Go here to check it out: http://www.cdbaby.com/all/scrain
It'll be up there any day. CD Baby received it yesterday, and generally take about 5 days to get it going. In the meantime, you can check out my other CDs if you want.
With all of them you can listen before you buy. Hope you'll stop in and have a look(and listen).
thanks,
Sam

| Friday, June 16th, 2006 POETS Club Piss on everything, tomorrow's Saturday. That's what that stands for anyway. And it's what I stand for on Friday nights. The picture was taken by my brother Josh(I think I might have a "real" version of it in the pictures already), and also altered by him of course. Not much else for right now. I'll let you know

| Saturday, April 22nd, 2006 04/22/06 Hey, whoever-reads-this. 1 new picture up(subtitled "They're here!" due to its decidedly extraterrestial look), and several mp3s. All classical stuff, and all at the top of the mp3s page. Enjoy!

| Saturday, April 8th, 2006 s.o.a. Saturday S.o.a. stands for 'sit on ass'. If you work for any government entity(both parents and myself have worked for the State)you learn to think after awhile in acronyms. So I'm enjoying a nice soa Saturday, after having paid my daygig dues all week(especially Monday and Tuesday).
Got a number of new pictures in here for your viewing pleasure, and hope to add in some more mp3s(as if there aren't enough there already!).
Thanks for visiting. Hope you'll stop by my "main" site as well at http://www.samcrain.com/

| Saturday, November 13th, 2004 Blog Jones Normally I 'blog', as it were, on my regular samcrain.com site, and normally on Friday night. Last night both CD Baby and Hostbaby were on the fritz. This morning CD Baby is fine but Hostbaby(and therefore my site)is still for sheeit.
So I did one as a word document(don't know how long I can survive these Spartan conditions!)which will be up there as soon as the site returns to functionality. Pretty entertaining, or so it seemed at the time I was writing it.
Anyway, soon I guess. I hate waiting. For anything.
In the meantime lotsa music here to check out. CDs for sale, and pretty nice on the price.
More later.

| Sunday, October 24th, 2004 sunday blog A nice lazy weekend. Of course if they were all lazy I suppose boredom would set in. But if you've been working pretty much every weekend for the past 6 weeks, it feels soooo good to wake up on Saturday morning and know you don't have to go anyplace or answer to anybody for the whole damn day!
I have been working on a couple project-type ideas and have enough material for 2.7 CDs(that is, 2 whole CDs and most of a 3rd):
(1)The first one is all classical music, chamber and electronic stuff, some dating back to '79 and some fairly recent. Pretty 'out-there' stuff, at least by most folks' standards, particularly the electronic stuff. If my catalogue of music were a Chili parlor, this would be my firebrand stuff... Got the cover and all the selections, just a question of putting it all together(usually thru Musicians' Friend's do-it-yourself CD process).
(2)A CD of all grooves. Not exactly firebrand, but pretty spicy as far as that music/chili scale of accessibility. Some of the selections have more 'tune' to them and others are just pure rhythm, but they all 'move'. I dunno. Seems like it could be an interesting motif: an all-rhythm album. Working title is "Dance Your Way to Heaven", from one of the selections. Got the cover, and all of the selections selected, just a question of putting them in some sort of order.
(2.7)Got some fusion/smooth/eclectic sorta guitar-driven stuff, have maybe 6 salvageable selections, will have a full album when I have another 4 or 5. In addition to these 2.7 CDs, I have a new one, recorded just about a month ago(Sept 25,26 & 28th). This one's a quintet(alto saxophone, guitar, piano, bass & drums)and is straight-ahead/modern jazz, all written by me. In the process of writing liner notes, assembling pictures and fixing a few things on a couple cuts, and then she'll be ready.
Well, such is life on this beautiful Sunday at roughly high noon. Thanks for visiting.
