About me:
After 22 years of touring and recording, Sean Kelly finds himself in the comfort of a loyal and dedicated fan base that have made his journey easy to justify and appreciate. I spoke to Sean recently in a candid interview discussing all the ups and downs of the pursuit of ones dreams and this is what he quoted. SK-“All I know is that I am very dedicated to the things I love. I have had such a great life filled with great friends. When I first started out when I was around 16 or 17 years old I knew that I would end up playing music in some capacity. What a great way to express yourself. What a great way to see our beautiful country. I am just a high school drop out with a degree in adventures. With all adventures you will eventually cross paths with darkness. I was very fortunate to surround myself with a loyal team of co musicians, road crew and a few representatives that have supported my music on tours and on the recordings.” MB-How many recordings have you produced? SK-“I believe that there must be over fifteen Samples CDs depending on what you consider a recording” MB- What has been your greatest memory or memories from your musical career including while on the road? SK- “Most all of them” “It’s been like nothing that I could explain in just a few minutes”. MB- what are your current goals and aspirations? SK- “I am working on a solo CD that I am very exited to produce. I am looking for musicians in the southern California area who would like to help me out with this recording. I am also playing many acoustic shows with a good friend and musician Wayne Canny. He and I sound really nice together and for now it’s much more my speed.” MB- Will you be playing with a full band anytime soon? SK- “Absolutely! I am very exited to put a band together so that I can play electric guitar as well. I can put a band together in 10 minutes if the desire to have me perform is strong enough” MB- How can people contact you if they are interested in a Sean Kelly performance? "The Samples" Named after weeks of beautiful Colorado snow, dumpster diving and who could forget, living off the King soopers Samples sections of food! That's how we got "the Samples". I Play, sing and write songs in a band called "THE SAMPLES"- I did it on my own with crap loads of help from many good people!, never sold out! Kept it real for myself and the fans! I took the more scenic and rewarding route! My Dad was Irish and my Mom was Hungarian. I was born in Norwalk Ct, Grew up in VT,I left Milton high school a tad early, Started The Samples in Colorado in 1986. Played Red Rocks and the rest was history! Now I live back in Vermont inbetween tours. I have moved around this country like a Hungarian bird searching for creation and playing my guitar, making music and Rock and Roll. In regard to my love of writing and performing, I have much Respect for those who can keep there music and art going. I am also a huge fan of sleeping and dreaming!
