| Sarah has studied voice for eight of her eighteen years and will attend Berklee School of Music in January. She has participated in much theater in North Carolina and has a varied and intense repertoire. She is in New York this summer and fall and we recorded this tune with just a cello played by Jeff Szabo, a classical and Broadway pit musician. The lyric was inspired by a statement overheard by Bruce Heckman at a jewelry counter and the music, with the gorgeous cello solo, was composed by Bruce Rogers. The object was to communicate grief over the loss of a loved one and show the acceptance of this burden by reserving a recurring time and action for memorial. There are elements of the art song here and just plain catharsis. |
