Sevendust was formed in Atlanta, Georgia in 1994 by Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), John Connolly (guitar), Clint Lowery (guitar), Vince Hornsby (bass), and Morgan Rose (drums). At first, the group called themselves Crawlspace. Under that name, they had the track entitled “My Run” on the Mortal Kombat: More Kombat cd. Soon after, they changed their name to Sevendust. In 1997, the heavy metal group released their self-titled debut album. Sevendust was number one on the Heavy Metal Charts for 12 weeks. In 1999, the group released Home. That year they played over 800 shows including a performance at Woodstock ’99. In Fall 2001, Sevendust released Animosity.
