Shylisa,(birthname), isn't very shy when it comes to letting out her vocal skills in front of an encoring audience. She is an ASCAP member with no limitations. She composes for the genres of country, rock, hip-hop, and jazz and plans to learn the piano, and guitar proficently. Emerging from Dallas,Texas, at age 23, she is the concious of soul music.
This development of new neo soul brings the shy out of love, trimph, and just plain everyday reality. But don't let the name "ShyLisa" fool you! This one is not afraid to say what's on her mind.
At age eleven, she was diagnois with (RA) Rheumatoid Arthritis, which gave her little hope to menuver without a wheel-chair by age 20. The noticable start of her career began in junior high school, as she was the first student to ever win an award for her school. This event made major changes in her strive to bring her musical dream to reality.
In 2000, ShyLisa began collaborations in the studio and by 2003, she conducted her own tour, on a low-buget, to the Dallas/Texas area and various mideast states. This brought a whole new meaning to the term "starving artist." Now 23, live and well, she hopes to gain the sponsership of The Arthritis Foundation to support her throughout her career.
"Let Go" is the first official single, off the demo/l.p. off her self-titled album "ShyLisa."
