Born in a small Norwegian town, Silje spent her first years running around the forest, beating imaginary woodland robbers with sticks and singing stories to herself.
Now 23, she is an artist and songwriter with a BA in music and plenty of songs in her bag. She also has lots of experience as a live musician and has gigged in Norway, UK and Spain - also performing live on Spanish national radio.
Silje's music is a heady tincture of rock, pop and folk, spiced with Norwegian traditional folk, jazz, punk and arabic scales. Her poetic lyrics are wrapped in quirky but hummable melodies and refreshingly original arrangements.
Surprising and intriguing songs are performed with a
