Six Degrees of Separation are a grunge influenced rock band from Lowestoft, Suffolk that perform all original songs. The band member’s ages range from 21 to 32. Formed only a year ago they have written and polished to perfection 15 songs to date.
Influences include Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Incubus, Pink Floyd, Reef, System of a Down and Slipknot.
The first full band gig was at The Seabreeze Club, Lowestoft. The night turned out to be an eventful one. Gene Simmons' Rock School 2 cameras appeared to film the entire evening, a clip from the set was aired on Channel 4 on 29th January 2006. The venue was almost double capacity and over 50 disappointed gig goers had to be turned away. Lead singer, Jamos, cracked a rib just threes songs into the set by being over enthusiastic with a tambourine during the punk style song "For All My Help".
All four members of Six Degrees are accomplished musicians who regularly swap guitar or vocals for drum sticks and/or bass. This not only gives diversity in the music style but a great live visual performance. Their music, heavily influenced by 90s Seatlle grunge, follows the "verse-chorus-verse" theme with passion and rawness.
The release of their first 4-track EP earned the band a group of dedicated local supporters. They are attracting attention both from the press and radio in their hometown and increasingly further afield.
The first single "You No More" will be released on April 17th and available from all the download sites (Napster, i-tunes, Karma download etc)
