| Skeptik was formed in late 1999. By January 2000, the line-up was set. The original line-up was Mark Schweighart (drums), Jonny Bates (lead guitar), John Sansare (bass), Troy Sansare (vocals), and Nathan Kurtz (guitar). Throughout the next year the band began writing material. In late 2000, we began practicing in Broadlands, using Blessed with Pain's studio. This is where the band really began to take shape. We developed a solid list of songs and worked to fine tune what we had. During the winter of 2001 , Skeptik moved to its new home at The Freedom House in Pesotum, IL. We recorded our first cd in 2003 and joined Heavycore shortly after it was completed. The cd, titled "Victim of Circumstance" has twelve tracks of all original material. Later that year, we contributed "Suicidal Daydream" to Loco Diablo Underground Sampler: Vol. 7 In early 2004, Heavycore's Roasting Posers Volume 1 was released featuring Skeptik's video for "Tired of.......Wyred out!" After 5 years together, Skeptik split up in May of 2004. In November of 2004, Skeptik returned as a four piece. Bill Trinkle a.k.a "Mad-Dog Cactus Sack" from Blessed With Pain took over on the drums. Later that month we contributed "To See You Die" to Heavycore's "Core Til Death III" and played our first show at Poser Roast 13 in Pontiac, IL. We are currently writing new material and will begin recording the new cd this fall. We are also contributing "The Last Laugh" to Heavycore's Core Til Death IV. Check out www.coretildeath.com for more details. Hope to see everyone at the shows! |
