Skillet was formed in 1996. They origionally started out at Memphis, Tenessee. The band was formed by John Cooper, the lead singer and bass player. Skillet's old guitarist was Ken Steorts, and the drummer was Trey McClurkin. The trio then made their first album in 1998 called, "Hey You, I Love Your Soul." Two years later in 2000, they made another album called, "Invinsible." After that, the band felt that something wasn't quite right. So John Cooper made an almost "new" band. So now the current members of skillet are, John L. Cooper, Korey Cooper, Ben Kasica, and Lori Peters. Cooper is still on vocals and bass. His wife Korey Cooper is keyboard and vocals. Ben Kasica is the guitarist, and Lori Peters plays the drums. Just one year later in 2001, Skillet made, "Alien Youth," on Ardent Records. In the year 2003, they made "Collide," also on Ardent Records. Then, in 2004, Skillet made a modified version of Collide on Lave Records this time. It included a bonus track, new artwork, and a video of the making.
