Sleep in Fame is a young, energetic rock act out of Oakland, CA. In a time when every band is expected to fit a mold, or a genre, Sleep in Fame breaks these boundaries, exploring different styles and never getting boring. It's really hard to classify these guys as one thing. Yes, their music is poppy at times and heavy at others. Yes, their lyrics are emotional. Yes, they look like a boy band gone bad. But the best way to sum it up is just "great rock music." It's explosive, it's energetic, it's driving...It's rock & roll!
Formed in early 2004, Sleep in Fame is the offspring of a handful of bay area bands who were tired of being just local bands. These four guys were ready to do something more. After forming, they began writing intensively and were playing shows in a matter of months.
They booked two full West Coast tours in the first year they were together with much success. But things still weren't perfect yet. The icing on the cake came with the addition of vocalist Scott Rose in July 2005. He joined guitaristEzekiel Dayton, bassist Dan Kingdon and drummer AAron McVeigh and brought to the table exactly what this band needed: The hooks, charisma and live energy of a talented and insane front man.
They immediately began reformulating their songs and writing new material that reflected their new style and energy. They hit the studio in August of 2005 to record a demo of the songs
"History" and "In Your Eyes." These two songs displayed two completely different sides of the band. Both are well thought-out, delicately structured songs with two completely different energies that come together to create one style. The band shows versatility in their song-writing and make it obvious that these songs are for themselves and for the people; music that everyone can relate to in their own way.
But to fully appreciate this band you have to see them live. They bring an overwhelming amount of energy with them everywhere they go, winning over audiences of every taste. With many years of writing, recording and touring experience under their belts Sleep In Fame is ready to rock the masses. They are currently in the studio recording their debut EP which is set to release in Summer 2006. |
