| Four fantastically talented young musicians make up Slowhand Row; they are often joined by dulcet tones of Caroline Byrne. Describing the musical genre of Slowhand Row is a difficult task. Elements of Jazz, Latin, Rock and Funk can be found in their music. The band themselves have often mentioned ‘a cross between Steely Dan and The Dave Matthews Band’ when asked. Since hitting the Dublin music scene in 2003 Slowhand Row has been building up a solid fanbase, playing in venues such as The Village, The Voodoo Lounge, The Sugar Club and MB Slattery’s. The band has proven so popular in Slattery’s that they appeared on a promotional compilation released by the venue. Although the band has yet to have any formal release, record labels have already expressed interest in Breaking Glass. While their music has some very technical arrangements, the band remain focused on creating a good song, fusing their influences while maintaining a commercial edge. Wanting to improve their skills and with the ambition of becoming successful musicians, three members of Slowhand Row are currently studying in Newpark Music Centre. And still at such a young age, they can only make you envious of their talents. In 2005, make sure you hear some Slowhand Row.
