Born Dafe Gray, on the Campus of Nigerias premier university at Ibadan in the fall of 1970, Sonni first made a name for himself as a rapper performing as Mr Respect.His recordings won acclaim in the university community and wherever else they were played.
He migrated to the U.S. in 1998, and since then has been active musically, first on the now defunct mp3.com where he had such top 40 recordings as 'Cuttin' Shows' and "if..."
His current album titled 'Shake' has already started making waves. The single "Bootyshake" placed 4th out of thousands of submissions at the National Showdown Countdown on WELE 1380 AM.

He is currently putting Finishing touches to his new CD/DVD which should be out in the 2nd quarter of 2008
