Violinist, singer and songwriter Sophie Serafino is a pioneer in the music industry. Violinists are meant to have a certain sound, they’re meant to look a certain way, and they most certainly stick to similar genre. Well, that’s what we’re used to.
Sophie Serafino is a violinist, also a singer and songwriter, with a unique blend of pop music. The style evolved after years of experimentation with many musical genres, has been described as entirely unique. Sophie mixes world music and impressionistic sounds with funk, dance and classically inspired strings. Sophie has travelled with her own original act to London, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Istanbul, Casablanca, Manama Bahrain, Delhi and Los Angeles
Sophie performs her original material with her 5 piece band, and loves to experiment with the classics and improvising with house DJs or performing house mixes of her music.
Sophie has spent 2007 writing and performing all over the world and completing the third year of her degree at the Sydney Conservatorium as a violin performance major. In January Sophie performed in London and Paris. In March, Sophie performed in Los Angeles. In April, Sophie was back performing in London and Paris.
