| It all started with singer/songwriter Jonathan Goldsmith. After years of working on his solo act, Jonathan recorded a demo locally in Columbus, Ohio. He soon learned that he would need a full band if he was ever going to be taken seriously as a musician. Jonathan quickly set to work assembling a band of talented local musicians possessed with the same drive that kept him so motivated. Jonathan met lead guitarist, Jason Retz, through a mutual friend. The chemistry was instant. The duo began playing acoustic open mic shows around Columbus while they searched discriminately for talented drummers and bass players. After several auditions they found acceptable counterparts and thus the band H.A.F. was born. As the group struggled to find its musical identity, H.A.F. independently released its first cd, "Narcissist," in March of 2006. While the style varied from song to song, the overall sound has often been described as a cross between Seven Mary Three and Pearl Jam. Over the following year, H.A.F. spent time gigging in local bars, writing new material, and incidentally developing a more modern rock feel stylistically. Due to personal and artistic differences, the band had recently faced lineup changes, among other setbacks. But, with an inexorable drive to move forward and a new name to symbolize fresh beginnings, Sorry William, formerly H.A.F., would like to welcome its two newest members, bassist Jim Guest and drummer Jason Yu |
