| Mark Myers and Matt Caratachea formerly of the band "…And More" recorded their first song in one afternoon with Mark on vocals and guitar, Matt on bass, and digital drum beats. Even with the captivating riffs and fast moving drum hits it just didn’t sound complete. After showcasing the demos for a few friends they spiked the interests of Evan White and Mike Patton. A month later in July of 2003 the band added Evan on guitar and backup vocals and Mike Patton on drums. With a now complete lineup the new Indie Emo Rock band took on the name The Soundtrack and started playing at local shows. Within a month The Soundtrack birthed a four song demo that was recorded on their digital recorded. Over the next few months the band played all around the tidewater area at local clubs, churches, coffee shops, teen centers, and small grunge clubs in Richmond. During the holiday season, the band traveled to Big Blue Sound in Wilmington Delaware to record their new nine song album that has preformed beyond their expectations. The Soundtrack recorded a second EP entitled …It’s Coming Clear which has been getting good reviews from everyone who has heard it so far. The only complaint is that the 5 song CD is just too short. The band has expanded their reach, playing shows throughout Virginia while keeping an eye out for record label opportunities. Early in the year 2005 Evan White, guitar player, quit The Soundtrack. They reluctantly began the search for a new member with the same chemistry and drive that was once present in Evan. After searching around they stumbled upon Rob Beggs, who they have known for some time. Mike had played drums in a band with Rob in the past, so they decided to try him out and see if he had what It took. The first practice went great and the guys couldn't help but smile. They finally sounded complete again. The guys didn't want to rush into anything so they gave it a week full of practicing and just hanging out together. And then on March 19, 2005 Rob Beggs officially became a member of The Soundtrack. The Soundtrack recently recorded their second full length album which they will be releasing in the months to come. They feel as if they are headed in a promising direction, and hope to be on the road soon. |
