Formed in 1995 by singer songwriter Paul Sparkes, Sparky's Cosmic Journey have been a favourite among some of New Zealand's top music and theatrical arts festival. Blending together their crazy cosmic rock with a mind bending multi-media stage show their gigs have rocked the stratosphere at many venues.
Of their many successes perhaps their biggest was when their music video for crowd favourite. "More than a one night Stand" went to NO#1 on NBCi.com's worldwide countdown. It secured more than 6000 downloads a day, over 1.3 million in total and stayed in NBCi.com's TOP 10 for more than 6 months!!!!
More recently their video for "Superseismic Girl" won the Knack Award at the "New Zealand Kodak Music Clip Awards" for BEST VIDEO produced for under $5000. Currently "Sparky" is completing a live in concert video which is a follow up to their first "Live at the Lumiere" show which played on cable TV in the USA and in New Zealand. This first concert event was enthusiastically received with one station in Arkansas playing it in prime time everyday for a month!! The new concert is proving to be even better with alien crash landings , a fire breathing RED DWARF and alien dancer, an audience of grooving robots and aliens, and of course more fantastic music.
