From the dawn on February 1996, Los Angeles hell-raisers Spineshank, born from the pervious band, Basic Enigma (Which included Spineshank’s Jonny Santos on vocals, Mike Tom Decker on drums and Mike Sarkisyan). Basic Enigma soon broke up after the electro metallists Fear Factory made a major release but soon reformed with a whole new sound with a whole new attitude and a new bassist, Robert Garcia. Fear Factory’s guitarist Dino Cazares later befriend the band after hearing their demo and offered for the band to open a show for Fear Factory at the Whisky A-Go-Go in Los Angeles. Spineshank soon began to catch people’s attention and led to other coveted opening slots (With other popular bands such as: Coal Chamber, Soulfly, Danzing, Sepultura and Snot.). Roadrunner records later caught interest with the band eventually signing them up and releasing their debut album ‘Strictly Diesel’ in September of 1998 and featured their favourite Fear Factory’s vocalist Burton C. Bells in the track ‘Stain’. Their second major album release ‘Height Of Callousness’ was to follow two years later. Their new wave of hard thrashing metal was sure to be a huge success.
