Stan was born in 1961 and grew up in Saffron Waldron in England.
Like many in his era, Stan got into Punk Music through 70s Rock, listening to the radio or buying records and cassettes. His first bands were formed with friends from school, and as there werent many bass players, he was in popular demand! Stan and his mates would go and see other Punk and Rock bands in Bishops Stortford at the Triad Club.
From this early period Stan's main influence for playing the bass, was Slade's bassist Jimmy Lea, who he still touts as an influence today!
Stan has played with a host of bands which include the Epileptics, and The Straps. Later he would join two of the 80's most popular post punk bands, Theatre of Hate and Spear of Destiny, both of which were fronted by Kirk Brandon, and who both were a big success on the UK live circuit. Spear of Destiny would also enjoy success with both their albums and singles
After Stan left Spear of Destiny in 1986, he formed his own band Crazy Pink Revolvers. In 1989 he moved to Philadelphia, where he started a new band Boy Boy Nova. Whilst he was with BBW he returned to the UK in 1990 for 3 sell out gigs at the famus Marquee Club with SOD. The following year he returned to the UK yet again for a Theatre of Hate reunion tour.
In 1992 a new Spear of Destiny album followed and a tour of the UK. In 1993 Kirk Brandon moved to the States and with Stan formed Elephant Daze, but after a few month they reverted back to the Theatre of Hate name. After a year and a half of successful gigging in the States, along with an album, Stan decided to leave and move in a new musical direction.
In 1996 Stan formed Plastic Eaters with co-conspirator Rob Daly, moving the music back to Old Skool Punk, but with the addition of breakbeats, loops and samples.
After a string of releases through their own website, August 2005 sees the release of a new EP in the UK entitled "The Giggies and Piggies EP" through This Sound, a new independent label.
