2003. From the ashes of dirty suburban punkrockband Feedback, Starbright Shadow started growing in the mind of Jesper Nyreröd, Feedbacks ex-guitarist. With intentions of playing more sophisticated music with more focus on lyrics, he called Kornloving singer Thom Kajava to play bass and sing and skadigging ex-guitarist Adnan Avdic to play drums. The band felt like a good thing from the beginning, even if the sophistication of the pop-sounding music was hard to notice. Anyway the band continued writing and they also got hooked up with R'nB-inspired singing bird Isabella Grödén who gave the music another dimension. Starbright learned to utilize the advantages of having two singers and Thom could concentrate more on his singing and fronting when bassist Christian Grev joined. The band did a lot of gigs, mostly in hometown Västerås, with this setting, but after their second recording they had to face the fact that they would need another guitarist. They wouldn't want to sacrifice Thoms flexibility on stage, instead they contacted Feedbacks ex-drummer, Niklas Hansson to play guitar. Starbright Shadow was now a 6-piece band with two singers (one female), two guitarists, one bass and drums. This gave the band many possibilities and they got a lot of credit for their live shows. This lasted 'til the spring of 2005 when Isabella decided to leave the band to move on with new projects, while Starbright continued the struggle of being an unsigned band. The music, which had always been sprawling in different directions, had got a rougher sound but in a more conscious direction and that's where we are today. The band has grown tighter and with a lot of emo and hardcore influences the songs are rougher, the shows have gotten wilder. Spending time and money on Starbright Shadow is always time and money well spent.
