The core of Starving Zealots formed in 1993, when Graeme Friesen and Nic Brouwer began writing songs together, using the name, Rebozo. Drummer changes were a constant problem in the band, but they perservered regardless. What followed over the next 10 years was hundreds of shows, a dozen albums and a growing fan base. By 2001, Brent Winterhalt had become the permanent drummer that Nic and Graeme had been searching for and the gel began to set. In late 2003, however, all 3 guys felt like something needed to change, or else the band would be done. After taking the winter off, Rebozo became Starving Zealots in early 2004 and things started to look very sunny. Immediately releasing a 3 song EP to introduce the new sound and new name, Starving Zealots was met with open arms amidst old fans, and new fans continued to grow as well.
