STEPHEN LAYCOCK is an independent, full-time artist and songwriter within alternative rock, adult contemporary, R & B and folk genre, drawing heavily from early blues-ballad artists of the 60's and 70's with similarities to Paul Simon, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, and Willie Nelson. Based out of Los Angeles, California, Stephen has been writing and performing since the age of fifteen, and has performed in churches, schools, coffee shops, auditoriums, and nightclubs throughout the United States and Europe.
His delicious wordsmith lyrics offer to inform us, and evoke images of life from days past, while sweeping along today’s interpersonal perceptions we share in common. As a current and versatile composer, Stephen’s vocal style, blended with classic music melody, is founded in Americana and traditional music. “Dropped In” is an album of songs written during his time of transition and personal challenge, and was self-produced in Los Angeles at Tripod Recording Studios. This independent label and a division of the label, TM Publishing was established while attending Musician's Institute, Hollywood, California.
Album credits: Dropped In – released September 2007
