Strangefire is a songwriting duo from the Dallas/ Ft.Worth metroplex performing and recording under the indie label Giglet Productions. They have released 3 cds...Fan the Flames which defines the Strangefire sound and launched the band to instant local recognition. Their second release, Zipper Confetti made them a worldwide force to be reckoned with, with heavy web promotion and internet radio play sending them to #1 on several web charts with every song they uploaded. This album also got them a distribution deal with PostDawn records. Their third release..Shazbot Munkie was just realesed in Jan. 2006 and is doing quite well.
Mike Ash, on
electric/acoustic/classical guitar and haunting lead vocals has been compared to the late Kurt Cobain in his song writing style and Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumkins in his delivery, however Mr. Ash is a unique artist in the emotional and improvisational sound of his vocals and songwriting styles. Backed up by Tak! on synth/keys and vocal manipulation create a smooth, sometimes eerie backdrop for the Strangefire experience. The fresh synthesized sound is something that has'nt been duplicated by any other band in recent history. Tak! is a master of Boss pedal effects and uses them in ways that complement the original guitar work of Mike Ash giving Strangefire a unique edge on todays alternative indie producers. Definatly worth a listen.
