Sunday Coming is a 3 piece band from the village of Kegworth in between Derby, Leicester and Nottingham consisting of:
Ken Scott: Vocals and bass
Tom Harris: Guitar
Jake Manly: Drums
Starting in mid 2000 under the first name Propaganda, they quickly developed their sound, which was pretty damn awful. A mix of the same old chords, terrible lyrics about a guy called ‘colonel mustard’ but with some promising beats. They gigged around the area with other local Loughborough, Leicester and Nottingham bands spreading there “flavour” and name.
By early 2002 when Tom and Ken could actually play there guitars the band was revised. A change of name and a change of style, Sunday Coming were born!! (Cheese)
Sunday coming’s music is influenced by a wide variety of artist (to lengthy to list). Almost a mellow yet uplifting style of rock and roll but incorporates a lot of freedom, not being tied to a particular genre and if it sounds good play it!
Their first 2 track demo was recorded in a studio in Bristol in the summer of 2003 which showed real promise but was never finished. Since then there music has again changed and improved.
There second 3 track demo, was written and released in Feb 2005 after being recorded in their own makeshift studio, “Dave’s basement”. Its success was highly surprising for the band. Plans for a future album are also under-way, its thought this will begin in the summer of 2005.
