Sweatshop Union first started to be known in 2002. This hip-hop group has been underground for a while and has only recently started to be up-and-coming.
They are known for their first album, Local 604 which had such hits as: "The Humans Race" and "The Truth We Speak".
Sweatshop Union is made up of four smaller groups. Each of the 7 members is in at least one smaller group.

Mos Eisley: MC/Producer...Dirty Cirus and Innocent Bystanders
DJ Itchy Ron: DJ/Graphic Design...Dirty Circus and SAL Crew
Dusty Melodica: MC/Producer...Creative Minds
Mr. Marmalade: MC/Producer...Creative Minds
Conscience aka Treefrog: MC/Producer...Innocent Bystanders

Local 604 was their debut album. "The Truth We Speak" was chosen by Ed the Sock as the 2002 Video of the Year and was nominated for MuchVibe Best Urban Video Award at the 2003 MuchMusic Video Awards.
Their second album, Natural Progression, hit stores in February and has already produced two hits: "The Thing About It" and "Better Days" featuring fellow Battleaxe Records hip hopper Moka Only.
Although the guys have their own style, they still like to incorporate fellow Battleaxe buds into their music.
They have toured with Swollen Members, Moka Only and Black Eyed Peas. And member, Kyprios, toured with Busta Rhymes a while back.
They have also produced music with Moka Only.
These 7 guys have been making music in their separate groups (Dirty Circus, Creative Minds, Innocent Bystanders and Kyprios) but decided to come together as Sweatshop Union so they could be heard by the world and make a difference.
When Battleaxe Records heard them, they signed them immediately. They now get to work alongside Swollen Members, Moka Only, and many other talented hip hop names.
Sweatshop Union is a group on a mission; to get their word out. To show people that there are ways that we can change all the crap in the world and make things right.
As their song "The Thing About It" states:
"The thing about it is we can't just sing about it.
We can't just sit around and wait until they thin us out.
We figure out where we're going while we live in doubt.
If you want my truth, listen now and just think about it."
