| Well, it all started when Joe Conboy wanted to start a band. He and Chris Miller were talking one day and Joe asked him if he could play drums. Chris said yes and they decided to form a band called Blackout with Joe singing and Chris on drums. They started practicing with Carl Shultz and Nick Morgan each on guitar. After a few practices, they decided to kick Carl out and Nick left the band by choice not long afterwards. They eventually changed their name to The Penguins and added Steve Ottinger on guitar. In the meantime, Joe recieved a guitar and amp for Christmas and started to learn how to play it. Steve left the band not too long after he joined to start his own band and was soon replaced with Andy Shilder just as the band name changed once more to The Switch. Andy quit soon after, which left The Switch how it all started out. A two-piece band with Joe and Chris. Then, the two remaining members asked Dave Leonhardt if he would like to play bass for them. Finally the band was close to the sound they wanted. Dave asked Kev Keane if he wanted to play 2nd guitar for them, but was rejected because he was already in too many bands and couldn't handle another one. He did, however, agree to temporarily fill in whenever he could as the band's second guitarist until they found a permemnant one... |
