Biography

Team Sleep is the Brain child of Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno. The core members are Moreno, DJ Crook, and Todd Wilkinson. Moreno got the idea for Team Sleep when Deftones were asked to do an acoustic version of their song "Be Quiet and Drive". Moreno said that he liked how simple it was and thought he might like to do more of it. He then got the idea for Team Sleep and enlisted DJ Crook and guitarist Todd Wilkinson. Around 2001 some Team Sleep material leaked onto the internet and Moreno all but abandoned the project. But in 2003 Moreno and the other members began recording again. Moreno has said that the CD is finished and that their label Maverick liked it so much that they want to release it later so they can promote it. One Team Sleep song called Passportal was released on the Matrix Reloaded soundtrack. It has no vocals but their is a version with vocals called Appolonia floating around the internet. A Team Sleep song called Mercedes was premiered on a California radio station in 2003. It was played once and never played again. Team Sleep has done one 10 date tour in California in 2004 and plans to do a tour in Europe also. The complete CD sould be released in early 2005.
