In true rock-cliché, the end of 2003 saw the RipOffs emerge from a Glaswegian garage, with a plethora of songs ready to gain attention. After many years of playing tiny church halls and school talent shows, whilst quietly(!) playing away to themselves, the Scottish youngsters have built up an impressive attitude, with energetic live performances which put much more experienced bands to shame.
Gaining airplay on the likes of BBC Radio, Cullin FM, and being selected for major Scottish radio station Beat 106’s artist spotlight for a week in February, the band are well ahead of their time. Anthem tracks such as ‘Stuck in Democracy’ and ‘Nearest as the Crow Flies’ instantly stick in the head, demanding attention. Moving on to play in the more illustrious venues of the renowned Glaswegian club scene, such as the 13th note, and the Barfly, even a showcase at the SECC, the band have scored support slots with the likes of Poor Old Ben, and long-time rockers Ghijk.
With a unique blend of grunge and melody-infused punk, the band are not to be missed.
