This Floating World are a Sheffield based six piece band playing songs of beauty and brooding dark pop. Evoking Mercury Rev, Nick Drake and the Flaming Lips TFW retain a definite englishness to their unique soporific style.
Justin Lewis, who led his own skunk toking Orchestra through a terbulent record deal with the Beastie Boys' Grand Royal, and a festival tour with his then nine piece band - formed This Floating World in early 2004.
This Floating World released its debut album "Sweet Relief" through the indie label South By So what in early 2005 to critical acclaim.
Fucker and a fool (surprisingly) got no airplay (although remains a firm live favourite), several of the more accessable tunes off that album could be heard gracing Radio 6.
Currently in the studio putting together their second album, TFW have recently recruited a second vocalist in the form of the sassy Sally Jo.
