they suck
Thursday, Saves the DAy.Finch,Dashboard Comfessional,Taking back sunday,brand new and every other "EMO" or "SCREAMO" band out there all have a lot in common
1.They are all spoiled white kids who cry about trivial things. They perpetuate their own sadness, because in thei lives they have nothing to really be sad about( weve all had our hearts broke get over it!)
2. Their fans are the same way
3. They think they are getting away with ripping off late 80's early 90's D.C. hardcore (fugazi,rites of spring, shudder to think, jawbox)
4. They are grown men that purposely write about teenage subject matter to sell records( thats called exploitation)
5. Did I Mention that they suck!

I disagree, thursday and brand new have some fucking great songs and lyrics. I also grew up on fugazi, jawbreaker and others and think these new bands are pretty good. They are a hell of a lot better than all the late 90's watered down shit.
Maybe they are spoiled white rich kids, but who cares, i like the music.
If you need a punk gimick or image like they were from the streets than your an idiot.
Anyway, maybe you should give them a shot(at least Thursday and Brand New).
I used to have your attitude, where if a band was getting big and popular than I didn't like them anymore. Like they were selling out. That's just bullshit.
I mean Fugazi are still one of the best bands ever, but that doesn't mean I should deprive myself from mainstream shit too. And I don't think you should either. | indierawk |

I honestly dont know that much about old
skool rock but I think thursday is the most
ballenced band out there. The one thing that
gets me are the lyrics theyre so flawlessly
worded. On the other hand I think Brand New
is terrible and they do bitch about teenae

suck. emo/punk/screamo music is the best
thing that will ever happen to you. TBS is
the best and so is thursday! you shouldn't
say there spoiled rich kids or w/e cause you
don't know them. and some of the band
members are only 21 and 22 of some bands so
singin about teenage things would be right.
adam in tbs is 22 right now in 2001 when they
recored tell all you friends he was 19 so he
WAS a teenager when it was recorded. and they
wrote those songs for like 3 years before
that. you need to go kill yourself if you

Thursday got where they are by being a kick

day? Anyways what kind of turd starts a they
suck topic on a bands page? Gah, some people
are so friggin dumb. Also, thursday is the
best band around as far as i can tell. If
you don't like them then please either

I know I am not arguing any new points here,
but I just thought I had to say something.
Thursday have not yet (so far!) written any
songs about being teenagers, their lyrics are
beautifully crafted and discuss a wide
variety of subject matter from the ultimate
punk enemy of conformity and 9-5 jobs (for
the workforce, drowning), to epic landscapes
of a post 9/11 apocolypse (war all the time),
go listen to This song brought to you by a
falling bomb, division st, marches and
maneouvres, rupture and rapture etc.
i feel you have jumped to conclusions without
really knowing any facts here, and I think Nu
Metal is probably ALOT whinier than Thursday
will ever be. (I should know, I used to like
that stuff!)
I also dont really believe that Thursday is
anything like the other bands, they are alot
more sophistacted and considered than alot of
the bands you have mentioned (dont get me
wrong I love Finch and TBS)
Musically as well they do ALOT of clever
things as a guitarists I think the music
although not always difficult is always
beautiful, intricate and great to listen to.
There are really no other bands I can think
of that sound like Thursday. Its a shame they
have been lumped into screamo, its a bit like
pushing a square block into a circular hole.
Sure there are similarities but the feeling
of the music is very different.
And when was the last time Thursday
complained about "being sad" in
one of their songs?
And your 5th point is really just
unintelligent and deliberatly insulting. I
notice thursday are signed and successful,
but you are not.

Ok no. I have to agree with the person at the
top. I listen to a pretty wide range of rock
music in general (anything from punk to emo
to metal to alternative etc.) and I have to
say that Thursday, though popular, fails to
be on my list of "good bands".
The singer's voice is irritating, I cringe
every time I hear it, and the lyrics are used
(meaning the poetic emo lyrics, yeah, those
kind of lyrics suck.)
Now, remember this is an opinion to any
Thrusday fans reading this, so don't come
back and comment something like "Well
your favorite band is AFI and their singer
sings like a girl!" or "You
like Slipknot? All they do is scream their
heads off!". Understand? Because
honestly, I couldn't give a shit what you
have to comment back to me about this but
nothing annoys me more than whiners getting

that i like em and im pretty picky when it
