Tim McGraw was born May 1, 1967 (some people say '66, but I ain't sure). He was born in Delhi, Louisiana. His unique voice makes his fans feel what he feels. Know what I'm sayin'? Even though he wasn't born in Tennessee, he started his career in Nashville.

McGraw's talent and music led to many fans for him. Including many wards from the likes of the Academy of Country Music, Billboards, the Coutnry Music Association, CMT (Country Music Television), and many more! He's also married to another famous Country Singer... Now who could that be? Well, every Tim fan knows... It's Faith Hill!
McGraw's parents are Betty Smith (not it's Betty Trimble) and Tug McGraw. Tug McGraw never really did play a significant role in Tim's life. Tim grew up thinking that Horace Smith, a trucker and his mother's husband, was his biological father. Horace and Betty divorced when Tim was only nine. After the divorce, Tim and his mother had to relocate around Richland Parish. One day, after moving, Tim found a box with his birth certificate in it. It had his father's name scribbled on it with the occupation of baseball player. His ma finally confessed that she had a brief romance with Tug, who was a minor league pitcher at the time. Tug quickly left her, though. She married Smith when Tim was about seven months old.
Tug McGraw went on making a name for himself in baseball. By the early 1970's Tug was the highest paid and most popular relief pitcher in baseball/ To, ,et jos fatjer pmce at a game in Houston. However, his biological father didn't show much interest in making a clsoe relationship with his son. Tug had already married and had two other children by tehn, he divorced with his wife in 1988. Tim was upset whit his dad for not supporting him, but later forgave him. Ironically, Tim had a baseball card of Tug taped to his bedroom wall even before he found out that Tug was his father. McGraw (Tim) considers his stepfather, Smith, his true pop.
As a freshman in college, McGraw wanted to study law. However, he enjoyed parties more than classes. He soong became more interested in music. He ended up buying a guitar from a pawn shop and taught himself guitar. Later on, he decided to quit school and take his chances on Nashville. Tug urged Tim to finish school first, but Tim reminded his dad that he had quit school for baseball. (Smart move)
Tim landed in Music City in May, 1989. Within a year and a half, he managed to get a contract with Curb Records. His first self-titles album appeared in April of '93, but it apparently didn't sell much. In 1994, McGraw released another single, "Indian Outlaw", which soon became a great hit! The song was very controversial. Some were opposed against it, saying that it was offensive to Native Americans. McGraw didn't mean no harm. (Yes, I know I used incorrect English.) Some radio stations in states such as Arisona, Neveda, Oklahoma, and Minnesotta stopped playin' that song.
McGraw had several hits over the years and continues to make more. His latest album is Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors. Tim is one of the best Country singers of this century.
