People go through their lives and their careers as musicians, either having things come to them easily, or having to work for every shred of everything that they get. The people that have things come easily for them usually don't get the chance to appreciate it, because they never had to work for it. The people that do appreciate it are the ones who are out there making it happen for themselves. This is Greg Mcgowan, and this is Time And Distance. Based out of Charleston, West Virginia, Greg Mcgowan originally started Time And Distance as something to do after parting ways with the rock band he was playing in. This was never expected to go past his own living room, but his living room turned into local shows, and local shows turned into recording a demo to sell to kids at those shows, which turned in to full on tours, and shows with bands such as One Line Drawing, Taking Back Sunday, Midtown, A Static Lullaby, The Reunion Show, and The Starting Line.
With each show, in each town, more and more kids seem to identify with the stripped down arrangements, and heart on your sleeve compositions that are Time And Distance. That's why starting in june 2003, Time And Distance will be on tour for as long as it takes for every person who would be into the music that is being performed, to hear it. |
