Tis Nyxtas ta Velouda is a Greek group formed in the autumn of 1999 by singer/songwriter and guitarist Sarantis Kostakis. The band in its inception included Filipos Dragoumis on bass guitar, Vasiliki Nikolaidou on vocals, Dimitris Korotzis on lead guitar and Leonidas Togas on drums. By mid 2000 the band had recorded their first album titled “Tis Nyxtas ta Velouda” with special guest Nikos Spiropoulos of Spiridoula playing guitar on track “Haramata stous Dromous” and piano on track “Vrohokeros”. Dimitris Korotzis left the group and drummer/percussionist John Lekkas was invited to replace Leonidas Togas. The second album titled "Mono gia Mas" was recorded in the spring of 2002. After the completion of the album, the first to go was Filipos Dragoumis (bass) and later on Vasiliki Nikolaidou (vocals). Bassist Dimitris Androulakis joined and the band moved on as a trio. In April of 2007 a new (double) album titled "Kathodon" was completed.
Blues, Rock, Jazz, Punk, traditional Greek, Mid-Eastern and African music is what the band is influenced by.
