Titus Elektro: The rebirth of a dying artist.
Formerly Adam Stewart and the Power of Reason (2001-2005), Titus has been in music since childhood. Beginning with percussion and drums, he eventually discovered a love for the piano at age 12, at which time composing became an unquenchable thirst. From then on, through the mid 80's and early 90's, his work progressed into electronic keyboards and sequencing.
"I was experimenting with electronica without realizing it, simply because the genre at that time was unknown to me. Sure, there was electronic music in most music I had heard at that time, but the creative beat driven genre itself was not in my world at the time. I eventually stopped doing it because I thought it was pointless. Later, I realized what I was doing and by that time, my whole studio was on my mac and it seemed like second nature."
Through his 20's Titus was working in many areas musically, learning many instruments and playing in many bands. One of his best musical partners was his friend Dave Milliken, and incredibly gifted guitarist and composer who currently works in ministry at Calvary E Free Church in St. Peter's, MO. The other was John Wiley, currently playing with "The Honorary Title". Their efforts led to a short-lived but life changing endeavor as "The Cronies", playing mostly his own original acoustic folk-rock music and eventually some of Wiley's music as well.
Eventually, Titus moved into computer based production and semi-professional recording, which led right into electronica composition. After sending a demo to NSOUL records in Hollywood, a relationship developed with their president, Phillip Kim. This eventually opened the door for Titus to become a two-time internationally released remix artist. Kim commissioned Titus to remix a song for Trish Thuy Thang's upcoming album in 2005 for Asia Entertainlment and then a remix of "Gimme Gimme" by Abba was commissioned purchased in 2006 by Danny Nyugen (Sydan) to be released at an unknown date.
Spending so much time in the studio, writing, recording and remixing actually became a limitation. Unless his music was purchased for other artists or used for video backgrounds or radio spots, no one actually knew who he was. After a conversation with Phillip Kim in 2006, Titus set up a show and mixed a good portion of his original music that night with DJ Fidelistat. It was a humble success, considering no one knew who he really was... Titus Elektro was only concieved a month before the show.
At present, Titus is focusing on revamping his current works, submitting songs to NSOUL for them to consider tracks for his first album with them, and working on side projects in the genre with talented artists and compsers like Upright Bassist Keith Miller, Saxaphonist Josh Schilling, Vocalist Jessica McElwrath and others.
