TRAGIC BLACK is a five-piece band from Salt Lake City and is amongst the most active and dedicated modern Deathrock bands.
While the current line up (Vision - Vocals, Vyle - Bass, Seputus - Drums, Guitar, Stich - Guitar & Hex - Guitar) is somewhat new, the founding members Vision and Vyle have released various self-released CD's since their inception in 2000. Released "The Decadent Requiem" on Strobelight Records in February 2006, and have numerous compilation & magazine appearances worldwide. Performed many concerts and festivals all over the USA as well as the WAVE GOTIK TREFFEN festival in Leipzig Germany.
Every Tragic Black CD has it's own unique sound as each release is related to a different element. Their debut album "The Decadent Requiem" was the element of fire. The band recently released their new CD "The Cold Caress", August 17th 2007 on Strobelight Records. The Cold Caress is the water element concept album based on the story "In The Cold Caress" written by Vision. The sound of The Cold Caress can be described as a mixture of melodic batcave glam, new wave deathrock, old goth post-punk, and electro dance.
Soon, a two song 7" Vinyl Record "The Dead Fall" will be released by Catastrophe Ballet Records. This air element release will feature songs; "The Dead Fall" & "Caught in the Noose."
Tragic Black has performed with such artists as; All Gone Dead, Android Lust, Ausgang, Bella Morte, Bloody Dead and Sexy, The Brides, Cinema Strange, Clit 45, Combichrist, David J, The Deep Eynde, Dismantled, Element, Frankenstein, Human Drama, Imperative Reaction, Kill Hannah, The Last Dance, Penis Flytrap, Pins & Needles, Radio Scarlet, Scarlets Remains, Shadow Reichenstein, Stolen Babies, Voltaire and many others. |
