| Tranquil has been writing and performing since August of 2003. Their eclectic fusion of classic rock, jazz and contemporary elements sets them apart from many of today’s modern groups. Since August of 2003, Tranquil has performed at many venues in and out of the GTA including the Reverb, Clinton’s Tavern and the Foundation Nightclub in Barrie. Along with that, Tranquil has also had their share of studio experience including a production of their album, “Paint You a Picture” with Rich Dodson of the Stampeders (recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame). Tranquil is currently in the process of recording their second album with Jim Hopson of Wellcraft Music.
In the past year, the band has proven that they are a voice to be heard in the music scene in and out of the GTA. They are featured on the University of Toronto’s “Frosh” album and have performed at York University’s 45th birthday bash. Tranquil ended off 2004 by reaching the finals in the Rock 94.9’s “Local and Loud” competition, and by placing in the top 10 of over 100 bands.
Tranquil has, and continues to provide fans with an energetic live experience; their ability to perform original songs as well as covers with integrity and creativity appeals to fans of all ages and musical tastes.
