| Dubbed Tulsas X-Rated Rapper, Trip C has developed a cynical and hilarious take on the hip hop genre. Born Adam Hartzke in Indiana, Trip was raised in the predominantly Baptist town of Owasso Oklahoma by his mother Donna, a nurse and father, Karl, a cop. This picturesque Leave it to Beaver upbringing is the background of most Midwestern politicians and clergymen. However, Trip was always an outcast when it came to music and lifestyle. Now sporting his signature multi colored Mohawk and rock-like appearance, Trip has always dared to be different. Showing an interest in hip hop at the age of 8, Trip's earliest influences were 2 Live Crew and Kyper which propelled him to start writing his own songs at the age of 13. After 4 years on the rock scene he realized his lyrics had a higher and mischievous purpose. At age 20, Trip is introduced to the Tulsa label Big Wolf Entertainment and musical prodigy Anthony P.D.A. Jenkins, his main producer, collaborator, and close friend for the past two years. Trip and PDA have since formed a partnership with P.D.As Squaresoft Productions, which recently released Trips debut album Flush Please to rave reviews. On the debut, Trip lifts his leg and take aim at a number of targets such as: hypocrisy, church corruption, rich kids, snotty women, small town life and dead-end jobs; all in a manner so raunchy and hilarious, many have called him the hip hop Lenny Bruce. By infusing elements of several genres, Trip has had the opportunity to open for rock, punk, alternative and hip hop acts such as Tech N9ne, Twiztid, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, Boondox, AMB (Axe Murder Boyz), Critical Bill, The R.O.C, Project Deadman, Lavel (Mr. Heart of soopa villainz),V-sinizter, and F.i.l.t.h.e.e Immigrants. His eclectic style has also caught the attention of the local media, garnering regular airplay on the local rock station Z104.5 The Edge and a recent two-page exclusive in the Tulsa World Spot, a publication dedicated to spotlighting local entertainment and entertainers. Still sporting a Midwestern work ethic, Trip is hard at work on his second CD, which he promises will be raunchier than the first. The first single One Finger Salute is a definite sign of growth for this former rock kid. Trips star is on a quick rise, but be carefulhe likes to spit from high places. -Hank Byrd Cinemental Entertainment |
