The Trying. A name representing something we must constantly be doing in our lives. We must always try to overcome our problems. We must always try to take the negative and turn it into a positive. We must try to always get the lessons from the trials we are given. And we must always try to become better people.
The current project is entitled "Born In Winter". The only release currently is the Born In Winter (4 song) demo. It is completely instrumental. However, there are lyrics (which can be viewed at this website).
The Trying is a project I started. I wanted to accomplish two main things - 1.) Write something fresh and original and, more importantly, 2.) Write from the heart. I love music and I don't really care for guidelines. I think it shows in my music as you'll hear influences of metal, electronica, funk, classical, and more. Another thing I wanted to do was combine my love for electronic music and improv music. I think that's something that people don't really hear being combined. The Trying is a one man project. Everything is written and recorded by me, Chris Kaetzel. I love music and I believe you can hear that when you listen to the songs I write.
