BIO
UltraposE was brought to life in early 2005 while Slade Templeton (the name behind UltraposE) was attending audio production school in Seattle Washington. Slade has been recognized by many monikers throughout the years such as The Alum Phaix, The Kraft, Pulse, and was the vocalist for metal band, Stellar Frequency, from 2001 to late 2004. Slade has had many musical achievements playing under these other names, such as playing a segment with Van’s Warped Tour in 2003 along with Porkfest in 2004. All of his experience and goals have come to one conclusion… and that is UltraposE.
UltraposE actually began to evolve much earlier. Slade was fortunate to be able to be raised in a large family of eclectic music lovers. He was steadily fed an audible stew of musical treats from bands and from people…The likes of …..Pere Ubu, Throbbing Gristle, ELP, Yes, Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Heldon, Richard Pinhas, Pink Floyd, Gary Numan, SAHB, Eloy, Frank Zappa, Gentle Giant, John Klemmer, Marc Bolan, Donovan, Agitation Free, Lard, Larry Fast, Jimi Hendrix, Aphrodite’s Child, Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Jade Warrior, Groundhogs, Jane, Nektar, Synergy, Kraftwerk, Prodigy, NIN, Passport, Neu, Cluster, Buggles, Steve Hillage, Gong, Hawkwind, Type O Negative, etc…etc…etc. Slade absorbed all these sounds like a sponge absorbs liquid and is squeezing out his own interpretations of the sound and textures that has been heard through his journey of life. This is not his hobby. This is his life. UltraposE will always be in a constant state of creativity.
Slade Templeton started music at the very young age of 5. He would play full compositions to his parents on the piano (sometimes 20 to 30 minutes in length). Slade was classically trained on guitar from the age of 8, but his biggest joy was to see what strange and different noises he could create on it (or any other instrument or “noisy” thing). Slade started recording digital & analog audio at about the same age. The sound of electronic instruments and the merger of computers have always mesmerized Slade. This is the thought that is behind the creativity of UltraposE. UltraposE is not afraid to explore the unexplored and will not be trapped into one Genre of composition. UltraposE is a mental slate of frequencies & numbers. He writes continuously. Slade says, “this helps me focus. I write when I am awake. I write when I am asleep. I have 100’s of songs in my head at any given time.”
UltraposE is not a band nor a group; UltraposE is nothing short of intelligent beats and rhythms with an ever-degenerating ambience in its presence. Starting a new "genus" of following with its grooves and ambitions in a "robot like cult" state of consciousness. All of this is a state of mind and is a Cyber-Journey that leaves you, the listener, "a little bit wider". UltraposE challenges humankind to this and to find that little robot in us... and to absorb the sound.
.UltraposE is UltraposE.
