A Note on Pronunciation
In German spoken language, the sound "ai " equates to the English vowel sound as in "mine".
The diphthong [ai] in ‘undermain’ (and eg., ‘Frankfurt am Main’), thus, is pronounced 'undermine' ..............................
Note: The ‘Main’ is the river that runs through the city of Frankfurt and is one of the tributaries of the Rhine. It flows through the German states of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse. The Main rises near Kulmbach at the joining of its two headstreams, the Red Main and the White Main. The Red Main rises in the Frankish Alb and runs through Creussen and Bayreuth. The White Main rises in the mountains of the Fichtelgebirge ...................................

undermain has appeared in brass bands, punk thrash and assorted electronic outfits. Now mixing electronic beats into acid house, incorporating drums, synths, sequencers and samplers. Produced in Frankfurt/Main, Germany. Influences: Kraftwerk, DAF, Joy Division, New Order, KLF, Prodigy, Nirvana, Nick Cave, Tom Waites, Louis Armstrong and the Chemical Brothers.
undermain's earlier projects with the Lords of Discipline and Bohemian Nightmare quartets, featuring Tim Triff on drums and Matt Black on a Strat copy, were received to acclaim. Their debut album 'Notes on Eating Bread' remains an underground punk-thrash classic. In the late 80s, undermain collaborated with the elektro/psychedelic trio of Jungle Junk, with vocalist Cathy Bogatec on bass, Matt Black on the Korg and other assorted crew. Their production of live stripped-down, raw elektro provided a 'unique perspective' on constructed sound.
Produced at Untermain-Studios, Frankfurt/Main
