In 1998, a band was formed in the bedroom of Dallas Taylor. Consisting of members Tim McTague(Guitar), Aaron Gillespie (Drums, Vocals), and Chris Dudley(Keyboard), UnderOath was formed.
Within a year of the formation of UnderOath, they were signed to Takehold Records, a record label out of Alabama. With 2 CD\'s and 5,000 copies sold combined, UnderOath was now signed with Tooth & Nail/Solid State Records, a record label out of Seattle, Washington.
Fast forward to the summer of 2003. Already there had been 2 member changes, and right in the midst of the 2003 Warped Tour, yet another member change would come.
This time, it would be founding member and vocalist, Dallas Taylor. After an emotional setback after losing Taylor, the band was not sure what their fate was. But then there came Spencer Chamberlain. After his performance at 2003\'s CMJ Festival in New York City, Spencer hushed all critics and skeptics that didn\'t see a future for UnderOath.
With 5 CD\'s under their belts, they have evolved from just another christian metalcore band to a mix of screamo, hardcore and alternative.
They have been on the Taste Of Chaos Tour with the Used, and the Warped Tour.
Members currently in the band are:
Spencer Chamberlain: Vocals
Aaron Gillespie: Drums, Vocals
James Smith: Guitar
Chris Dudley: Keyboard
Tim McTague: Guitar
Grant Brandell: Bass
