Us Alone rose from the ashes of Ian, Brad and James' previous band, Aminit Alone. In early 2003, Ian and James decided to go in their own direction, playing as a two peice with just acoustic and drums. Regulars at the notorious Melborn jam sessions, they found a new sound, experimenting with tempos and time signatures.
Frustrated by the limitations of being a duo, they decided they needed to call in a bass player. Brad re-joined the band late in 2003.
With the new dimension the bass brought. Us Alone called upon more of their rock influences for inspiration.
Regular gigs over the next 2 years throughout West Yorkshire gave the band a tight live sound.
Unfortunately, commitments outside music meant that 2008 was a quiet year for the band. With James lost somewhere in Asia and Brad and Ian racing and writing-off cars respectively, prospects for the future didn't look promising. But now, with a clutch of new song written and a new found enthusiasm for their music, 2009 looks set to be a big year for the band.
Influenced by everything from drunken kisses to broken promises, Us Alone might just strike a chord... |
