About us:
Vedanta is a fusion band from New Delhi. Vedanta emphasizes on world
music based along Western Classical and Indian Classical Ragas.
Vedanta members have diverse musical backgrounds ranging from Indian
to Western Classical. The band is much more than just a fusion band. It
is a 'world music' band where the members of the band endeavor to
blend musical traditions from India with modern music such as jazz,
blues or rock .The band is getting noticed due to its melodic ,soothing
and heart throbbing sound produced by flute and other instruments. The
band is in the process of recording songs. The band is capable of
coming up as an acoustic trio and also on the same hand emerging as
fusion rock.

SAURABH SUMAN
Vedanta's Bassist Saurabh Suman started learning music at the unsophisticated age of seven and is now being trained in both theory and practice. Beginning from his school years, he has performed at numerous inter school competitions and has also been awarded the Best Bassist Award. He then went on to play with the band Tantric.
Saurabh has been a co-composer for several jingles and has achieved the fortune to perform with the famous Sitar player Prateek Chaudhary.
Influenced by the Indian classical singer duo of Rajan-Sajan Mishra and composers like A. R. Rehman and Yanni along with the Indian fusion band Mrigya, he is currently pursuing his Bachelors in Indian Classical Music.
RISHI DUTTA
Rishi Dutta, an Undergraduate student of Commerce at Ramjas College (Delhi University) has been learning the principles of the piano since the age of ten. He there after enrolled himself for foundational and advanced learning of the Western Classical piano from Associated Board of Royal School of Music - U.K. under the able tutelage of Mrs. Neena Roy and completed his grade seven.
During his school days, he has won many competitions like Pepsi Storm, Samsung Digiwitz to name a few. He is also an active musician of his college music society.
Rishi Dutta brings to Vedanta the experience of compositions for All India Radio, TV soaps and jingles.Needless to say Rishi apart from his musical expertise is also skillful in composing and arranging music electronically. His major influences include Beethoven, Van Halen, Deep Purple, Dream Theater, A.R. Rehman and George Benson among others.
His aim is to further take up music as a profession and has now begun tutoring prospective music creators.
REVANT SHERGILL
Vocalist for Vedanta, Starting at the age of twelve, Revant's non-musical background did not deter him from entertaining public performances including the famous Siri Fort Auditorium and Delhi Haat. His keen insight to predict the needs, tastes and expectations of his audience has assisted him to capture the limelight from the time of his schooling where he triumphed in numerous competitions (like Pepsi Storm and YMCA) and accredited with awards.
His vocal ability has encouraged him to gain the knowledge of Western Guitars which he is learning from Performers Collective. His main influences are he is mainly influence by A. R. Rehman, Air Supply, Scorpion, Journey and many others.
RAJAT PRASANNA
Born in the family of traditional legendary musicians of Banaras gharana, right from the tender age of six years Rajat is being learning Indian Classical and groomed under the kind guidance of his grandfather Late Pt. Raghunath Prasanna & father Shri Ravi Shankar Prasanna. The music heritage has imbibed in this child a very keen sense of sur and taal (Musical notes & rhytm), with the result; various exponents of Indian Classical Music have applauded his public performances in musical sittings. A daily practice session of minimum of four hours from last twelve years had enabled him to grasp and master the intricacies and have finer qualities of Indian Classical Music on Flute.
While listening to his enthralling performances, Times Music has released a collection of ragas & dhuns in a cassette named Dharohar-2 on flute at the age of fourteen and undoubtedly one of the youngest participating flautists in Hindustani Classical Music. Recently Mystica Music has released his new album under the series of Hidden jems. Since than he has repeatedly performed in All India Radio, Akashwani & Doordarshan.
RITESH PRASANNA
Ritesh Prasanna is the latest signature in the realm of flute playing in the country. Hailing from a renowed family of musician of Varanasi who have traditionally played & nurtured the shehnai for over two & half centuries, he has taken to music by inheritance. His father Pandit Rajendra Prasanna is one of the great flute & shehnai player of the country. He recieved all his illustrious training from his grandfather Pt. Raghunath Prasanna, Tauji Pt. Ravi Shankar Prasanna, Uncle Sh. Rakesh Prasanna and his father Pt. Rajendra Prasanna.
At the young age he has a good command over Flute. His recitals are methodical with emphasis on Gayaki Ang. Consistency in sur & laya is the hallmark of his playing. This talented young has not only imbided the subtle nuances of Banaras Gharana but also presents them in a very beautiful way.
At this young age, he has performed at various renowned musical concerts such as Pt. Raghunath Prasanna Smriti Sangeet Samaroah , Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan Sangeet Sammelan, Pt. Vishnu Prasanna Smriti Sangeet Samaroah, Gharana Utsav,Ustad Bismillah Khan Smriti Sangeet Samaroah in Varanasi on 2006.
He has also won many competitions such as U.P. Sangeet Natak Academy Competition(1st Prize). All India Flute Competition organised by Sahara India Pariwar (1st Prize), All india Instrumental Competition at IIT Delhi (1st Prize).
Recently he got "Sangeet Sadhak Samman" from Navodit kalakar Samiti in Delhi.
Noel Ezekiel Malekar
Noel Ezekiel Malekar (born on July 30, 1987) is both a student of music and a performer. Born in Pune to Diana and Ezekiel Malekar and presently based in Delhi.
Currently, he is the drummer for three bands, Vedanta, Frequency and Psykix. Frequency is an Electronics cum Experimental music band. The band reached the finals of Channel V’s Launch pad, a reality show featuring sixteen of India’s top rock bands which finally boiled down to four finalists. The band played at Hard Rock Café, Mumbai and for the final leg at the Hamsadhwani Theatre, New Delhi. Noel was given the choice to execute interplay with electronics still preserving a foundational rhythm. He has toured significantly with Frequency.
Quite contrasting in nature, Vedanta’s music is firmly rooted in a united version of world music inculcating the virtues of Indian Classical. The band is much more than just a fusion band. It is a ‘world music’ band where they endeavor to blend musical traditions from India with modern music such as Rock, Blues, and Jazz etc. The band is currently recording songs. Noel has also played for the G.I.R. 2007; India’s most coveted and respected Rock Competition.
Psykix, synonymous to the brutal kick lines up some of the senior musicians from the band Nakshatra, lead guitarist Sumit and bassist Immanuel planned for a wicked thrust with young guns Noel and Mayank. The axes are ready to chop-off some serious death material with Psykick growling n' ball crushing drumsBesides music, he is also a student of English Literature at Ramjas College, Delhi University. Incidentally, his firm roots in music aided his admission to the course. He therefore plays for the college band also
