Vendetta Red was created in 1998 by Erik Chapman (guitar, keyboard, vocals), Joseph Childres (drums, vocals). Justin Crank (guitar, vocals), Zach Davidson (vocals), and Mike Vermillion (bass, vocals). The members of Vendetta Red, who all stem from Washington State, were inspired by the Grunge Rock of the early 1990s. In 1999, the group released their debut, self-released EP entitled 6 Kisses: A Blatant Reminder of Why We Are Alive. They then began touring the West Coast of the United States. In 2000, Vendetta Red released their debut album, Blackout Analysis. They then continued touring. In October 2001, they released White Knuckled Substance. The album, which was well received by local radio stations, was released by Loveless Records. In early 2002, the group was offered a contract from Epic Records, which they accepted. Vendetta Red then began headlining a tour. While touring they sold their new EP entitled “Cut Your Noose.” The group then toured the United Kingdom. Their next album, Wide Full Article, was produced by Jerry Finn (Green Day, Blink-182, Sum 41). The first single was “Between the Never and the Now.” The group then came out with the single, “Shatterday.”
